A new Ministry is beginning at Byron United Methodist Church... In today’s world there is food insecurity & hunger. But there is also great ‘soul’ hunger that is increasingly caused by an overwhelming and disconnected world. We see people who are stressed, hurting, isolated, lonely, discouraged, divided, hopeless, grieving, feeling like they don’t belong, disenfranchised, and those experiencing mental health issues.
When Jesus, of our Christian faith tradition, ate, shared food & time with all kinds of people, in all kinds of situations (in homes, crowds, with friends & strangers), the ‘community meal’ acted as a spiritual practice. The good news of the gospel – LOVE - is shared in the practice of being present with people, by sharing time and food, a most basic & essential life activity.
Our new ministry invitation is for ALL to join us for ‘Come, Be Fed’ at a free monthly dine-in meal. Our prayer is that all who are "hungry" and need to be fed for whatever reason will join us in gathering around our tables to be welcomed, fed and feel God's love. Come!
